White Pine

Push The Possibilities White Pine

It is the year 1605.

Captain George Weymouth explores the coast of New England, a place currently known as Maine. He sails the Archangel to Monhegan Island, Camden, and the Kennebec River. Out of everything Weymouth and his men came across, the white pine impressed them most.

“What a sight to behold!”

The trees dominated the coastline and were the tallest trees they had seen in eastern North America. They stood at the towering height of 230 feet!

White pine trees went on to play a critical role in the history of Maine. Throughout the colonization era, demand for these trees kept growing. They even had a significant role in starting the Revolutionary War.

Today, white pine is used extensively in construction, flooring, and cabinetry. Since the trees are great at holding on to their needles after being cut, white pines make a popular Christmas tree. With an even texture, low shrinkage, straight grain, and pale brown color, white pine is another great flooring option.
